Vattenfall
Vattenfall is a Swedish energy company and one of the market leaders in Northern Europe. Their ambition is to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels by providing cleaner energy to their customers. Visit their website.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Customer Journeys
The project
Vattenfall manages multiple customer journeys for their more than two million customers in the Netherlands. I was brought in to optimise their contract-renewal journey, with the goal of reducing churn and strengthening customer retention. This included personalising email flows using newly gained insights into customer preferences and building new emails in Adobe Journey Optimizer.
What I did
I tailored email content to individual customer interests using data. I wrote the email copy, supported the implementation in Adobe Journey Optimizer, and helped develop a manual to guide Vattenfall’s content marketers in writing and working within Adobe.
Key results
A clear guideline for content marketers on how to work with Adobe Journey Optimizer, along with optimised, personalised email flows to improve customer retention.
CIRCO
With support from the Dutch government, CIRCO activates entrepreneurs and creative professionals to (re)design products, services and business models in order to become circular and future-proof. Visit their website.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Content and Events
The project
With its proven design-thinking method, CIRCO helps companies develop circular business propositions. CIRCO’s Classes and Tracks take place both in the Netherlands and internationally, and the CIRCO method requires ongoing communication to reach more businesses and encourage them to take their first steps toward circularity.
What I did
I managed CIRCO’s social media, created content, developed internal and external newsletters, maintained contact with international CIRCO Hubs for content creation, interviewed Track participants and published their stories, maintained the website, and developed a structured content calendar for the organisation to work with.
Key results
Newsletters, a consistent stream of weekly LinkedIn posts, increased engagement and follower growth, social media design templates, and steady content input from international CIRCO Hubs.
Circonnect
Circonnect is a knowledge platform for circular design, partly funded by the Dutch government. It provides practical tools and actionable insights that make circular design accessible to everyone. With practical circular design tools, freely accessible knowledge, and a wide range of workshops and events, Circonnect helps individual entrepreneurs and entire supply chains turn circular ambitions into reality. Visit their website.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Content and Events
The project
Circonnect operates in an increasingly essential field driven by resource scarcity: circularity. My role was to translate circular design principles into clear and accessible language, to inspire organisations to take circular action and encourage them to join our classes and engage with our design tools.
What I did
To inspire organisations to take action, I produced weekly social media content - from videos and in-depth articles to social media posts on circular design and the tools and knowledge that Circonnect offers. I conducted interviews, set up email flows and workshop invitations, sent monthly newsletters and kept the website up to date.
Key results
A consistent stream of in-depth articles and interviews, new social media design templates aligned with brand guidelines, increased follower growth and engagement, and a clear, workable content calendar.
iWell
iwell brings clean energy into full effect by orchestrating energy flows for businesses and enabling European industries to become energy-independent through smart energy storage solutions. The company helps prevent grid congestion while building strong, future-proof connections. Visit their website.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Content, Translations & Market Expansion
The project
iwell entered a brand-new market and was one of the first in the Netherlands to focus on storing renewable energy with smart energy solutions. As the company grew rapidly, they needed support in their marketing team to create in-depth articles explaining how their system work. For their expansion into Germany, they were also looking for a bilingual marketer to help reach their German audience.
What I did
I conducted interviews with data analysts, engineers, and HR professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s smart energy solutions and internal operations. Based on these insights, I wrote clear and engaging content explaining how the technology works and how the company operates. I also created articles for their German office, translated the website and key email communications into German, and managed content for LinkedIn and other social media channels - supporting both the design and development of posts.
Key results
A continuous stream of LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram posts, in-depth articles and interviews, a fully translated German website, and bilingual content.
Bunzl Retail & Industry
Bunzl is an international outsourcing and distribution company with operations in Europe, North-America, South-America, Asia and Australia. Sustainability has become part of their daily business: they continually pursue internal improvements while inspiring their clients to take action as well. Visit their website.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Content
The project
I assisted the company with two projects: Bunzl Flexibles and Smart Packing. Bunzl Flexibles offers flexible packaging options that reduce CO₂ emissions by taking up less space during transport and using fewer raw materials. Smart Packing uses intelligent AI algorithms to remove excess air from packages, enabling companies to take quick and easy steps toward more sustainable and efficient e-commerce processes.
What I did
Based on interviews with the product owners of Bunzl Flexibles and Smart Packing, I developed website copy and designed the websites. In addition, I wrote articles, case studies, and LinkedIn posts. The main challenge was translating complex topics into clear, accessible language while preserving a professional tone.
Key results
Two websites, in-depth articles, LinkedIn posts covering project launches, and a featured newspaper article.
Sungevity
Sungevity is a solar panel specialist working with housing corporations to make solar energy accessible for tenants. As an early adopter, the company has helped bring solar power into the mainstream in the Netherlands through its visible presence and influence.
My role
Marketing & Communications Manager | Content
The project
Sungevity needed support for their relatively small marketing department. Their goal was to strengthen their presence on LinkedIn and other social media platforms and position themselves as a thought leader in the solar industry. They aimed to be approachable by sharing interviews with clients, employees, and partners, while also publishing in-depth, accessible articles to help make solar panels more mainstream.
What I did
I conducted weekly interviews and turned them into easily digestible yet relevant content. I also managed their social media channels and rewrote several client letters, drawing on my research and expertise in how to communicate to tenants about adapting solar panels.
Key results
Weekly interviews and articles, social media content, and tenant letters tailored from my research on communication for behavioural change.
